I’m really having fun with the Letterboxd social-media app, which works great on mobile as well as desktop. It sort of does for movies what Goodreads does for books. Letterboxd lets you easily track the movies you watch, and very quickly pop in a review, comment, and/or star rating, and indicate whether there are spoilers.
It’s slicker, better designed and much more attractive than Goodreads (which needs a major overhaul to make its visuals more appealing and its navigation more intuitive), and it’s also more intuitive and easier to navigate. Letterboxd features a real mix of participants, from everyday film buffs and casual viewers to a few well-known film critics. You can also access some original content there, too.
If you’re on Letterboxd, please let me know by following me at PhilipsFlicks, and I’ll probably follow back. If you’re not … try it, you might like it. And please follow me on Twitter @pboothmedia.
